Alternate Pathway to Certification Checklist


Please take this short quiz to see if you meet the minimum requirements for the ABTS Alternate Pathway to Certification.
1.  Do you have a minimum of 10 years of continuous clinical experience in thoracic surgery as an attending surgeon in the United States after completing all training?
 



2.  Do you have an unrestricted US medical license in the state you practice?
 



3.  Are you an Associate Professor or higher?
 



4. Are you a faculty member at an institution/hospital that has an ACGME-accredited thoracic surgery residency program?
 



5. Have you been at this institution/hospital for three full years?
 



If you answered Yes to all of the above questions, please review the other requirements for the Alternate Pathway to Certification HERE.

If you answered No to one or more of the above questions, you do not qualify for the Alternate Pathway.  The ABTS does not waive or make any exceptions to the requirements. Please check back with the ABTS when you have met the criteria.
